Israel Birds Part 01_02

Some more birds whilst both at the resort and out-and-about.

European Hoopoe
My god-daughter, Claire, has professed the Hoopoe to be her favourite non-British bird of all the birds she has seen on her travels. In 2018 she waxed lyrical about it and I had to admit to her that it was a pretty special bird, if just a bit different from usual. Well, on the second morning at the resort, I spotted this bird. No camera on me so I ran back to the room and returned to the spot, waited a few minutes and it appeared. Consequently I discovered that a pair were feeding young in a nest somewhere so there was no hurry at all. I was very excited indeed to tick this bucket-list bird.
