Israel Birds Part 01_01

About this time last year, Heather Alexander and I visited Israel for a Holy Land tour which was totally fascinating. Whilst the first fortnight of touring was in a 50-seater bus with 48 southern Americans from the southern states, a true birder cannot switch off both birding and photography. For the first week we stayed on a kibbutz resort on the southern shore of the Sea of Galilee and a hotel in Jerusalem for the second week.

Here are some birds seen each morning on a resort stroll at first light.

Pygmy Cormorant
Cattle Egret
Black Kite
Laughing Dove
Great Tit
Palestine Sunbird
